One of the things we really like about Google Analytics is their commitment toward continuous improvement. They recently unveiled changes to some favorite reports that are worth mentioning.

Customized Features

You can now tweak predefined reports into a custom report. This allows you to save a custom report format and pull it whenever it strikes your fancy.  Yet it’s good to know that the standard reports are still there whenever you need ’em.

Search Results Ranking

Ever wonder how links to your site rank? Previously Google Analytics reported the average position of all links to your site. Now your reports reflect the first position of a link.  You can find this updated featured in “Traffic Resources > Search Engine Optimization.”

Search Engine List Expanded

Even though Google is the 900-pound gorilla, they are willing to play nice with others. In GA the Search Engine report is auto-populated with the most known/used such as Bing and Yahoo. You can always add any they’ve missed. For those conducting business  internationally, they’ve added several Japanese searchers like Big Globe and Norway’s Startsiden.

Internationally Minded Google Analyzers

Need an excuse to visit Europe? Then the upcoming Google Analytics Users Conference in Amsterdam may be just what you need to convince your boss. Not in the cards? Then consider Google I/O 2012 which will take place locally in San Francisco June  27-29.
