AdWords Editor 11.0 Unveiled

Make no mistake, Google makes billions off of online advertising every year. Back in 2012 Search Engine Land reported they made more than $120 million a day. So updating their AdWords Editor is a great way to make existing AdWords customers happier and more productive at spending money. The 11 update is a thorough revamp to the editor, the most comprehensive since its release back in 2006. You’ll see big changes to the AdWords Editor interface, providing new features as well as new visual design. Here the highlights I promised:

  • Redesigned interface. Google has completely rebuilt the interface including a new navigation layout. Plus, you now have ability to download an entire MCC account two times faster.
  • Manage accounts & items side by side. This is particular slick, especially if you are managing multiple AdWords accounts. You can now have multiple windows open. Rather than toggling between windows, you can now set them up in a side-by-side view. It’s pretty cool that you can copy/paste as well as drop-and-drag between windows.
  • Type lists. Rather than navigating using tabs, you can find and perform common tasks such as negative keywords, locations, etc.
  • Improved search. Who does search better than Google? They’ve upgraded the search bar; you can now add multiple search criteria and filters. Woohoo!
  • More bulk actions. Via multi-selection, you can view items within any combination of campaigns or ad groups in a tree view. You can organize data into rows and columns in order to complete bulk edits. This is a definitely a feature for power users who manage accounts that have complex set-ups.

Need to see it in action before you upgrade to AdWords Editor 11? Here’s a short video (only 1:35) from Google that’ll walk through the above highlights.

What do you think of the new AdWords Editor?
