Reading Time: 3 minutesMaximising Your Social Presence
Every business has a Facebook page. But is your Facebook page actually bringing you business? If it isn’t then you might need help optimizing your social media profile. Take a look at our Facebook optimization tips, and see if you can get more likes and shares next month.
Ticking All the Boxes
You Facebook business page is a blank canvas. You a have a profile photo, a description, a cover image, video space and much more. Make sure you use it all. A half filled profile doesn’t look professional and it’s wasting your free space. Make sure you’re profile is 100% full.
Also, think outside of the box. If your company logo is your profile photo, don’t just include a larger version of your logo as the cover photo. Perhaps show some of your product line or some behind the scenes photos of your production process.
Filling in all of your information on your profile won’t just make it look better, but it will also help Facebook’s inbuilt SEO find your page when people are searching for it. The more context you give Facebook, the easier it is for them to link to your business page.
Share Content for Your Readers
Creating your own unique content is important, but you don’t have time to take 5 great photos a day or create a new 30-second video once a week. So share other people’s good work. However, you must remember to always credit your sources, linking back to their own page or website.
If you know your buyer well enough, you should be able to put yourself in their shoes and share content that you think will appeal to them. Then beef it up with your own content when you can.
Get Your Customers to Interact
Facebook is an interactive platform. Shares, likes and comments make Facebook’s world go round! So try and encourage your customers to interact with you. Curate shareable content, run surveys and competitions or ask questions. Inviting participation is tough, especially if you haven’t done it before. It can take time to engage people enough to get responses, but when you do the payoff is worth it.
Let People Behind the Curtain
Another thing you can do with your Facebook page is to allow your customers to see behind the scenes of your business. Doing this will create a better connection with your customers by showing your ‘humanity’.
If you have office events like fancy dress days or fundraisers, make sure you’re sharing that content on Facebook. Not only will it give your customers an insight, but it also promotes good team spirit and a sense of community. Plus, who doesn’t love being tagged in Facebook photos by their boss?!….
Respond Quickly
This might be obvious but it bears repeating. Respond to any messages or comments you get on Facebook. Facebook actually ranks posts and content higher if it is getting quick responses, so not only will you keep your customers happy and feeling loved, but you will also get an internal SEO boost from Facebook.
