Top Social Media Tools for Curating – Part 2

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Part 2 of our favorite social media curation tools for business to measure SoMe efforts.

2. Curating Followers

As the number of followers increase, it gets harder to curate or manage the quality your network. Without ongoing curation you run the risk of diluting your social media efforts. We recommend FriendorFollow, Tweepi,  as well as SocialOomph. These social media tools help determine who is following you, if they are spammy, or are a bot rather than a real person. FriendorFollow is a simple tool to determine who is refollowing you. If you want a geekier tool, then Tweepi is a good match. You can  “flush” unfollowers and determine if your social media account appropriately reciprocates. Remember social media is social, and a one-sided conversation isn’t useful or smart business.

3. Measuring Influence

You may have heard about Klout, but there’s a new kid in town: Kred. Measuring online reputation is an absolute must for businesses involved with social media. Every person or account on Twitter now has a Kred score, which is made up of two parts: influence and outreach. Your influence score is a metric of your ability to inspire others and is based upon how often you are retweeted, how many new followers you’re gaining, etc. This social media tool also looks at Facebook likes and Google+ but Twitter is the primary source of data. Kred practices what they preach, and they have complete transparency… meaning they show you exactly how you got your score. Remember Twitalyzer? It also measures influence as well as your generosity (retweeting other’s content)  as well as engagement.

Carol, this is Shawn from Kred. Thanks for including us in your post.

Another thing social media marketers will love about Kred is our community scoring. In addition to a global network score, we give Influence and Outreach scores within communities connected by interests and affiliations. This is great for marketers that are looking for people who are influential on a specific topic and are also likely to interact.

Let us know your ideas or suggestions at [email protected] or @kred.

    Cheers!
    Shawn
