2013 WordCamp San Francisco dates were recently announced. If your business has a WordPress website and you’re even remotely involved with it’s care and feeding, then I highly recommend saving these two dates on your calendar: July 26 & 27. The cool thing about WordCamp is that it provides a wide variety of topics. It appeals to both the technical and creative audience. It’s also a great way to mingle with others that love this open-source platform. Click for a free 30-minute consultation »
Technical Side of WordCamp
To be fair, a good many of WordCamp attendees carry at least two (maybe three) mobile devices. They don backpacks for their laptops, and you can find them anywhere there’s an electrical outlet. In previous years this event had presentations like:
- 10 Things to Make Your Site Faster
- Measure All The Things! Automate Performance Optimization
- Foundations of Fast Plugins
- The Business of Code
- Zen of WP Development
As you can tell from the above session titles, WordPress developers and WordCamp speakers can have a sense of humor to spice things up.
Design & Content Related
For those involved in design or content for a WordPress website, there are plenty of sessions that don’t involve jqueries, cookie-authentications and html coding. Here’s a sampling of the user design and content-related topics from 2012:
- State of the Word (keynote address by WordPress co-creator Matt Mullenweg)
- State of Mobile (important as mobile responsive themes are Hot, Hot, Hot!)
- Designing for the Modern Web
- Building an Audience as a Writer
- All-You-Can-Eat Content-Types Buffet
Alas, tickets aren’t available for the purchase yet. However, there is a call for speakers. What sessions would you like to be on 2013 WordCamp’s schedule?
