New Look, Same Great Features
In typical Google fashion, they are beginning to rollout a new version of Google Drive. Yesterday I was so excited to see some changes to this awesome app. Of course not everyone in my organization had access to the same look/feel. If you’re one of the lucky ones, congrats. If not, here’s a sneak peek of what’s coming.
The Low Down
According to a post by Googler Abby F. in the Google Product Forums > Google Drive Help Forum, they started to roll out the new version at the end of June. Here’s the low down on the the new Google Drive look:
- The interface is meant to be cleaner and easier to use. Since I’m a tecky, I never thought it was awkward to use in the first place. However, the folders and files have a more updated, polished appearance.
- Google Drive pays attention to what features you use most. Now you can drag multiple files or use keyboard shortcuts. I like that you can see recent activity quickly via the menu.
- There’s a new incoming section, alerting you when new files and folders are shared with you. This is particularly helpful when you collaborate with different groups of people.
So… do you have access to the new Google Drive?
