Implications of Recent Announcements
Just last Friday we pondered whether Google Plus is dead. In the latest Google Plus update, Google CEO Sergey Brin let it slip that he thinks the social network was a “mistake.” Wow… what a way to lose trust with followers who were lured into using the system to help with search visibility.
Sergey’s Interview at Recent SF Bay Conference
According to an article on ZDNet entitled “Thanks for Nothing, Jerkface,” Brin confessed that Google+ was a mistake. More specifically, he said he was “kind of a weirdo… it was probably a mistake for me to working on anything tangentially related to social to begin with.” Yikes… thanks for the heads-up, dude. What a way to sweet talk the 1/2 billion users who actively post and participate in +communities.
Vic Gundotra, the guy who ran Google+, left the Mountain View company quietly in late April. You can read his eloquent “And Then” good-bye on his Google Plus update dated April 24. It’s definitely worth reading.

What are your thoughts on this latest Google Plus update? Are you angry or apathetic?
